Wedding Planning & Design at Heritage Bay

In the summer of 2022, Kayleigh and Jim reached out to us to help plan their wedding at La Playa in Naples, Florida. Kayleigh had a vision of dining waterside while her guests enjoyed dinner under the stars. Kayleigh’s vision was a beach ceremony with her closest friends and family dining under the stars followed by an over the top party with the best music around. Shortly after starting to plan the wedding and drawing near to their wedding date, Southwest Florida was devastated by Hurricane Ian in October of 2022. This hurricane left so many brides, including Kayleigh and Jim, without a venue or plan for their next steps. Luckily as experienced wedding planners, we were able to jump in and reassure them that everything would be okay and start looking at alternative venues. Kayleigh and Jim ultimately decided on a country club that would be closest and easiest for their family and friends; Heritage Bay Golf and Country Club. Although this altered Kayleigh’s vision dramatically, we didn’t want her to have to compromise the core of what her wedding was centered around, which was intimate dining with friends and family and the ultimate party to follow.

After Kayleigh and Jim decided on wedding planning at Heritage Bay Golf and Country Club, we got to work reenvisioning all of their rentals, vendors and florals from a beach ceremony to a lawn ceremony that still reflected their dreams. We used Floral Designs by Sony to create the ultimate waterfront wedding that would still bring Kayleigh’s vision to life while incorporating lawn elements versus being on the beach. Although we couldn’t get Kayleigh and Jim on the beach, in order to give their lawn ceremony even more of an upscaled elegant theme, we had a raised piano and violin player for a live music incorporation for the ceremony. Since Kayleigh and Jim had already pre planned this for their original wedding and paid for it, we were able to incorporate additional instruments as well as include the saxophone player for half of cocktail hour and the beginning half of dinner.

Unfortunately, the venue was originally a full indoor reception setup, but through working with the venue and explaining Kayleigh’s ultimate dream and negotiating some design factors, we were able to create a beautiful one family long set up with 8 tables and a terrace overhanging with florals and allowed Kayleigh and Jim and their families to dine under the stars. We incorporated this separate dining area into the dancing area by having Kayleigh and Jim’s seat open into the dance floor area. When Kayleigh and Jim were introduced into the reception, they came into dancing with the clouds provided with Curate Entertainment in order to transition between the dining and the dancing party. The elements of the beach boho from the original theme were reincorporated by Plithos Event Rental who worked with us closely to make sure every design and element matched perfectly!

We also are so grateful for the amazing vendors who trusted us to revamp every detail while still keeping the couple on budget and deadline. We worked super hard to create the absolute perfect day for Kayleigh and Jim and I know they had the best. day. ever!
